2020 Jeep Compass vs 2020 Jeep Renegade

Serving Fairfax VA

In 2020, the Jeep Compass gets some minor revisions to its feature availability, but otherwise, the SUV carries over primarily unchanged from the previous model year. The latest Compass belongs to the class of extra-small SUVs, but it has plenty of space despite its smaller size. As with the 2019 model year, the 2020 Compass is noted for its user-friendly and attractive technology interface display. A variety of custom settings and options on the dashboard add to the Compass's appeal. As with others in the Jeep family, the Compass stands out for its off-road capabilities and handling. This is especially true for the Trailhawk edition. While the Compass is mostly the same in the latest model year, you will find some updates to the Renegade. The 2020 Jeep Renegade gets some changes to its mechanical system, technology offerings, and availability of packages and options on select trim levels.

Performance

Both the 2020 Jeep Compass and 2020 Renegade excel in the area of power and performance. All trim levels of the Compass are powered by the same engine, which is a 2.4L gasoline-powered engine with four cylinders. This engine generates up to 180 HP. It gives the Compass a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. A series of advanced four-wheel-drive systems are available to help the Compass take on the most challenging terrain. The Renegade is available with two engines. One is a 1.3L turbocharged engine with four cylinders. This engine produces 177 HP and 210 LB-FT of torque. The other is the same 2.4L engine on the Compass.

Appearance

Both the Compass and Renegade have aesthetically-pleasing designs. The Compass gets a touch of class and style with available features include 19-inch wheels and a glossy black roof. Its bold chrome-accented front grille makes a statement on any trim that you choose. Distinctive bold LED headlights are a highlight of the Compass. You can also upgrade your lights to bi-xenon HID headlamps with LED strips in the front and LED lights in the back. The Renegade features roof rails, a removable sunroof, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Assorted wheels ranging from 16 to 19 inches give the Renegade style from the ground up.

Features

Inside, the Compass and Renegade have smart, sophisticated, and well-equipped interiors. The Compass comes with refined fabrics and a variety of seating materials. Dual-zone climate control provides two sets of controls for the driver and front passenger. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available. A seven-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard. There are two USB ports in all trims as well. The 2020 Renegade comes standard with a five-inch touchscreen, but you can upgrade to a seven-inch screen with a Uconnect package. Moving up the trim levels, you'll get either upgraded cloth seats or leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. More packages and add-on features are available on the top trims, too.
