2022 Jeep Gladiator vs 2022 RAM 1500

Serving Fairfax, VA

The Jeep name is closely associated with rugged, powerful capabilities, so it makes sense that your search for a new truck would take you to the Gladiator. The 2022 Gladiator is a midsize truck showing Jeep’s familiar traits. However, you may wonder how this impressive model compares to the RAM 1500. The 2022 RAM 1500 is a full-size truck that is strikingly different in critical areas. What should you be aware of before you finalize your next truck selection?

Performance

The 2022 Jeep Gladiator is offered with two powertrain options. These are a 285-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine and a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V6 that produces 260 horsepower. Both are offered with an eight-speed transmission, but the gas-powered engine is also available with a six-speed manual transmission. Select Gladiator trim levels add a two-speed transfer case, Fox shock absorbers, locking differentials at the front and rear, all-terrain tires, and other functional equipment. The 2022 RAM 1500, on the other hand, is available with four powertrains. One of these is a comparable turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V6 engine that generates 260 horsepower. A V6 hybrid engine, a V6 gas engine, and a V8 gas engine are available. Select trim levels have higher-level mechanical features available at a premium price.

Appearance

The Jeep Gladiator takes strong design cues from the Jeep Wrangler. It has a tall, bar-style grille with a prominent front bumper and rounded headlights. The profile is distinctly boxy, and the sides are tall and flat. As with the Wrangler, the Gladiator has a removable roof. A 5-foot cargo bed is in the rear. The RAM 1500 is a massive vehicle with a molded hood and an angled windshield. The sides have a deep scoop running linearly through them. The front bumper is molded, and the grille style varies by trim level. The rectangular headlights are lined by LED bars on the top and bottom.

Features

The 2022 Gladiator is impressively equipped with progressively advanced features as you walk up the trim levels. Some trims have adaptive cruise control, leather seats, heated seats, a front-facing camera, parking sensors, a navigation system, an auto-dimming rear mirror, rear privacy glass, an Alpine sound system, smart device integration, and more. You will also discover a substantial variation in interior features throughout the RAM 1500’s trim lineup. Its features could include cloth or leather material, power windows, power door locks, an AC system, a small display screen, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
