2020 Jeep Gladiator vs 2020 Jeep Wrangler
Serving Fairfax, VA
The Jeep Gladiator is all-new for 2020. It is heavily based on the Wrangler's design, but the Gladiator is a pickup rather than an SUV. The Gladiator makes a triumphant return this year after a decades-long hiatus. The Gladiator returns with an all-new style and more amenities than ever before due to popular demand. From the front, the Gladiator looks very similar to the Wrangler. Both have Jeep's signature seven-slot grille, the bold Jeep logo, and the automaker's classic headlights. The Gladiator has an open-air truck bed in the back, while the Wrangler has the characteristic shape of a Jeep SUV. The 2020 Gladiator is the only convertible truck available for sale and has a more spacious interior than other pickups. The Moab trim of the Wrangler is no longer offered in 2020, but it is replaced by several special-edition trims and a new Altitude edition of the Sahara and Sport models. The powertrain lineup expands to include a new hybrid V6 engine this year. While the Gladiator is the first generation of its kind in 2020, the Wrangler belongs to the fourth generation dating back to 2018.
Performance
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6L gasoline-powered engine with six cylinders. This engine's power capacity is 285 HP and 260 LB-FT of torque. The engine also has start-stop technology to save on fuel. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler has multiple engines. The base is a 2.0L turbocharged engine that generates up to 270 HP and 295 LB-FT of torque. This engine's towing capacity is 3,500 pounds. A hybrid version of this engine is available too. An available 3.6L V6 also offered in a gasoline and hybrid edition, produces 285 HP and 260 LB-FT of torque. Its towing maximum is also 3,500 pounds. The available diesel engine delivers 260 HP and 442 LB-FT of torque.
Appearance
Since the 2020 Gladiator is modeled after the Wrangler, its exterior looks somewhat the same. High fender arches and rugged tires are hallmarks of the Gladiator. All trims have bright LED rounded headlights and a sizeable seven-slot grille. Removable doors, your choice of a hardtop or a soft top, and a foldable windshield are notable exterior features. The Gladiator gives you the option of four styles of 17-inch wheels or larger 18-inch wheels. The 2020 Wrangler is offered with soft tops in several colors or a zipperless top that can be paired with removable doors and a foldable windshield for open-air driving. The Wrangler offers even more styles of 17-inch to 18-inch wheels and up to 33-inch tires.
