If you're looking for a fun, sport, and well-equipped SUV to drive, the Jeep Compass is a perfect choice. The Compass is one of the smaller SUVs in the Jeep family, but it offers a spacious cabin for its class and plenty of cargo space. The Jeep Compass is also a charismatic SUV with many exterior styling options, including the availability of an 80th Anniversary package with unique styling accents for 2021. The Jeep Compass gets some other changes for 2021 and includes more safety technology on certain trim levels. The manual transmission is also dropped this year.

There is one gasoline engine for all four trim levels of the Jeep Compass in 2020 and 2021. The Jeep's engine remains unchanged from one year to the next, with a total power rating of 180 HP. The Compass's engine delivers 175 LB-FT of max torque with four cylinders and a displacement of 2.4 liters. The standard drivetrain for most Compass trims is front-wheel drive, but you will get all-wheel drive instead if you choose the Trailhawk. All-wheel drive is otherwise available for the rest of the lineup. The transmission ranges from a six-speed automatic with front-wheel drive to a nine-speed automatic if you get a trim with all-wheel drive.

The Jeep Compass has a unique exterior design that's just as stylish as it is functional. The first trim, which is the Sport, has steel wheels. Starting with the Latitude trim at the second level, you'll get alloy wheels instead. The Compass also has LED headlights and sharp-looking chrome exterior accents at the higher-end trim levels. Brighter and more powerful Xenon headlights are offered for the top trim through a package, and the Trailhawk has several off-road features, including tow hooks and skid plates.

A few more safety features are added to the Trailhawk trim level in 2021, but the Compass's interior amenities otherwise carry over mostly unchanged. The Sport trim still has split-folding seats and a user-friendly infotainment system with a seven-inch screen. The Sport also contains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude trim builds on that list with a luxurious leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio, and a keyless entry system. Heated seats and leather upholstery are added to the Limited trim, which also has a slightly bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen. A package of advanced safety aids comes with the Limited, while you can get a sunroof and Alpine sound system with the top trim or through packages for the others.
