Serving Fairfax, VA

The Jeep lineup holds several impressive options for Fairfax drivers who expect solid performance and great features from a smaller SUV. The Jeep Compass and the Cherokee are both compact crossovers, but the Cherokee is a slightly larger vehicle. In addition to their size, the Compass and the Cherokee stand apart in other exciting areas.

Performance

The 2023 Jeep Compass has five trims and the same powertrain system. They are outfitted with a 200-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder engine. The system includes four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The top Trailhawk trim includes all-terrain tires, hill descent control, a Rock drive mode, a raised suspension, and skid plates. The 2023 Cherokee is available with two powertrains: a 271-horsepower V6 system or a 270-horsepower turbo four-cylinder system. Both are available with an automatic nine-speed transmission, and select trims also have a locking rear axle, an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and an upgraded engine cooling system.

Appearance

The 2023 Compass and the 2023 Cherokee share many aspects of Jeep's modern design language. For example, they are styled with square wheel fenders and a wide grille with rectangular accents. The Compass is decidedly sporty with an angled roofline, a sharp crease crossing the door panels, and an athletic fascia on the nose. The 2023 Cherokee adds thick, dark body molding from end to end, with prominent molding over the front and rear bumpers. The sides have deep contouring, and an LED element on one side line the triangular headlights.

Features

While the Compass and the Cherokee are both available in a range of trim levels and with several optional packages, they have many shared features. Both have heated front and rear seats, a navigation system, an Alpine sound system, driver's memory settings, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, highway driving assistance, a foot-activated power liftgate, and adaptive cruise control. The Cherokee also has an automated parking system, active noise control, and additional features.
